Addendum - ASIAIR Device

ASIAIR Remote Operation

updated: 2025-08-18

Goal: Control an ASIAIR unit located behind a router in a WiFi or LAN network remotely via the Internet using the ASIAIR app on a tablet or smartphone.

WARNING:

  1. Unfortunately, the following instructions will not work if you are using iPads or iPhones; for some reason, iOS devices (or the ASIAIR app on iOS) cannot connect to the ASIAIR via a remote Internet connection. On the other hand, a remote connection from an Android device to an ASIAIR via the Internet works without any problems.
  2. You are opening up ports on our router, which could allow attackers to access your network. The ports we are using are not normally used ports, so we should be OK, but it's always best to be aware.

Short description:

  1. Assign a fixed IP address to your ASIAIR on the router so that the IP address of the ASIAIR never changes.
  2. On your router, allow the following port forwarding numbers to this device:
    1. TCP Port 4400 (ds-srv)
    2. TCP Port 4700 (netxms-agent)
  3. To find the internet address of your router, go to  https://whatismyipaddress.com/ . Be sure you're connected to your local network.
  4. Then, open the ASIAIR app outside your local network (e.g., by deactivating the WiFi on you table or smart phone) and tap on Connect via IP.
  5. Enter the IP address of your router that you found earlier and click on Connect.
  6. That's it!
