In the previous editing steps, unstretched or linear images were always used. If these were exported, the result would only be a more or less black image. Therefore, the final image must now be stretched in the last step.
In this chapter, we will show you some ways of achieving a stretched final image.
- Histogram Stretch: this is the traditional and the simplest approach
- Masked Stretch: may lead to a flatter image which need further image stretching
- Generalized Hyperbolic Stretch: a script approach to the final stretch
