Flat Contour Plot

Purpose

This script helps to check the optical equipment for alignment problems and dirt

Activation

Script > Image Analysis > Flat Contour Plot

Input

Any flat frame

Output

none


Steps: 


  1. Open a flat frame (or a master flat frame9
  2. Open FlatContourPlot

    and select the open flat frame, leave all other settings.

  3. click on Render to start the analysis - if the resulting plot looks like this everything is well aligned in you optical train and also no dirt either on the sensor, the filter or the reducer. You should see a similar vignetting at all 4 corners of the image, otherwise your camera is not well centered.


  4. If the resulting plot looks like this you should consider cleaning your optical equipment!
