Although the different resolution settings appear at a first glance like an optical zoom, they only act like a digital zoom like in a DSLR. Higher zoom factors correspond with lower resolutions (or vice versa).

Recording formats:

  • MP4: will be stored directly on your mobile phone or tablet
  • AVI (required format for video stacking): will be stored on the selected memory device (internal CF-Card or USB memory)
  • AP4 + AVI: will do both

Audio: whatever you like, but if you are going to stack the planetary, lunar or solar video, select Mute as default

Start Recording

  • click on the big red button on the right , the button will change to a black rectangle
  • to stop recording, click on the back rectangle

Recommendation: there is no need to record long videos if you plan to stack the video later on. For sun, moon and planetary surfaces it is sufficient to take a couple of short (2s to 5s) videos in AVI mode, stack and compare them.

Next Step: stack and post-process the .AVI video file on the ASIAIR device
