Step 6:  StarNet2

Processing steps

  1. Start with the noise reduced image from step 5
  2. Separate the nebula and the stars to create two separate images:
    1. a starless image containing only the DSO object
    2. a second image containing only stars 
  3. To generate the 2 images make sure to check the Create starmask checkbox.

StarNet2 (Process > StarNet2) with these options:

Output 1: Starless Image (identifier: DSO, postfix: *_DSO)

Output 2: Star Image (identifier: Stars, postfix: *_Stars)
