Purpose	These optional steps are necessary if the enhanced linear image was previously split into one image containing only stars and one containing only nebulae or galaxies. These two images must be processed separately and then merged again. For images that only contain stars, it is best to first perform linearization using the HT - Histogram Transformation Process (HT) and then the Curves Transformation Process (CT) to improve contrast and enhance colors. For images that contain only nebulae or galaxies, the new Multiscale Adaptive Stretch (MAS) feature, available in version 1.1 and later, has proven effective. It simultaneously linearizes and improves contrast and color enhancement. Finally, the two images (stars + nebulae/galaxies) must be combined again. PixelMath can be used for this purpose.
