- Taking Pictures of the Moon
- Photographing a Lunar Eclipse
- Taking Pictures of the Milky Way
- Time-Lapse Videos of the Night Sky
- Taking Pictures of Comets
- Target Planning using Messier objects table on Starlust.com
- Planning Mosaic Images (e.g. to generate session plans for ASIAIR plan mode preparation and mosaic imaging or framing)
Good planning support is available from these tools:
- SGPro Target planning tool (computer based)
- ASIAIR Pro Target selection
- Target Planning with ASIAIR and SkyAtlas
- SkySafari Pro

Important: Make sure that the selected target will be at least 20° (better > 50°!) above the horizon and not too close to the east of the meridian if you want to avoid a meridian flip of your mount during the photo session.
